You’ve
seen them on TV and heard their hit singles These
Streets and Heavenly Sent on
radio, and now you get to experience them live on stage. Mi Casa, currently the
hottest property on the South African music scene, head to Underberg this
Easter to perform at the annual Splashy Fen Music Festival running from March 28
to April 1.
With
their unique brand of soulful house music, Mi Casa has literally taken the
country by storm, topping radio and video charts and bagging Best Group, Best
Dance Album and Song of the Year at the 2012 South African Music Awards.
They’ve also raked in numerous other local and international awards and
nominations, and quickly built a massive fanbase – not bad going for a band
that’s only been together since 2011!
Band
members Dr Duda (producer and DJ), J’Something (vocals and guitar) and Mo-T
(trumpet) combine their individual skills to create a rich sound best described
as warm house beats peppered with jazz trumpet and a fresh twist of soul.
Mi Casa will
share the bill at Splashy Fen with the likes of Gazelle and inviZAble, The
Muffinz, Gangs of Ballet, December Streets, ISO, Matthew Mole and Niskerone.
Festival-goers
can look forward to a line-up of close to 100 of the country’s hottest acts
performing on four stages, top-class sound and lighting, as well as stand-up
comedy, a dance valley, vibrant arts and crafts, plus loads of exciting food
and drink outlets.
Camping
for the entire four-night, five-day festival is included in the ticket price.
Another option is an on-site ‘tent motel’ offering a more glamorous camping
experience with all the comforts of home! There is also a separate family
campsite, which is the ideal spot for festival-goers with young children.
Supported
by Tourism KwaZulu-Natal, Splashy Fen has been going strong since 1990 and is
South Africa’s longest-running annual music festival. Booking is at Computicket.
