A forthcoming Sony Max Movie Highlight will be Sahara on April 8. This is a stirring
war film about heroism and courage under fire, directed by Brian
Trenchard-Smith (1995).
In this remake of the classic 1943 war drama that starred
Humphrey Bogart, James Belushi (Saturday
Night Live, According to Jim) stars as Sergeant Joe Gunn, a tough American
tank commander helping the British army to take on Rommel’s forces during World
War II.
When their positions are attacked following the fall of
Tobruk, the small tank crew is forced to retreat south into the Sahara Desert.
There, the parched soldiers discover water at an ancient well - only to find
themselves having to defend it against an entire German battalion.
Sahara airs on
Sony Max DStv Channel 128 on April 8 at 21h00.
