The Playhouse Company, situated in Durban
is looking to fill the position of Arts Manager.
Ref No: MAN/ARTS/022013 - Arts Manager
The successful applicant will be
responsible for budgetary control and reporting and management of all Arts
related contracts. He/she will be required to manage all operational activities
in support of the execution of the Artistic Programme and undertake Staff
Management.
The suitable incumbent will need to meet
the following minimum criteria in terms of qualifications, skills, competencies
and experience:
Qualifications
& Experience:
- Be in possession of a Matric;
- A relevant tertiary qualification in the
Performing Arts, or an appropriate qualification in music, drama, or dance will
be an advantage
- Computer Literacy-MS office at
intermediate level
- Five years’ experience in a management
position, in the field of the performing arts or theatre management;
- Theatre management experience in a
related government or public entity will be advantageous
Skills
and Competencies:
- Excellent business report writing skills,
- Business aptitude,
- Project management experience,
- Budgeting and forecasting,
- Management/supervisory experience and
- Knowledge of the performing arts.
