Yvonne Chaka Chaka is a legend in the South African music industry. She has been a trailblazer for artists and a champion for ordinary people over her illustrious career, spanning 27 years. With her latest offering, Amazing Man, she proves that she remains an amazing woman indeed.

Amazing Man is Chaka Chaka’s 22nd album, and she has put together a work that reflects her creative force, love for mankind and remarkable talent in a way that bespeaks her years of dedication to a life in music – a life that has meant so much to so many people. She tackles a range of topics – from love to death and war – never shying away from inciting change through music.

Her songwriting skills are evident throughout this album even though the Princess of Africa was assisted by Thulani Shezi, Alf, XIII BIS Music, Patrick Abrailo or Mfumu Mhinga in writing these songs. And as an added extra, Chaka Chaka featured Youssou N’dou, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Soweto Gospel Choir and Zuluboy, further proving why she is a legend in the music industry locally and worldwide.

Chaka Chaka’s endearment to her fans take presidence with this album. Amazing Man was a labour of love – first and foremost for her fans. “Thank you to all my fans that have supported me for the past 27 years. It has been a great long fascinating and lovable journey. I’m sure you’ll agree with me that music is a universal language. I’ve seen faces and places; I’ve managed to be a great advocate and I’ve tried to change people’s lives all through my music. This indeed is a blessing,” she says.

With her continued commitment to people and her divine love for music, Chaka Chaka continues to break barriers and champion causes that few others would dare to.
