Vintage Fashion, Jazz and Poetry – these
are the May highlights for the popular arts magazine, Classicfeel.
A passion for fashion? South African
fashion legend Chris Levin, in conjunction with Strauss & Co., is hosting
South Africa's first-ever vintage couture auction. Classicfeel takes a look at
the man behind the “ostrich feather cape” designed for Elizabeth Taylor.
For Jazz lovers there is an up-to-date
programme featuring great Mainstream Jazz, Afro-Jazz, Modern Jazz, Blues, Funk
and World Music that takes Classicfeel to the Standard Bank Jazz festival at
the National Arts Festival in June/July in Grahamstown. For the Classical fan,
Classicfeel meets with one of Africa's premier Orchestras, the KwaZulu-Natal
Philharmonic Orchestra, as they discuss their Winter Symphony Season, which
includes hosting acclaimed American violinist Sarah Chang in South Africa.
Classicfeel also speaks to Indra Wussow,
curator of the What Is Poetry? Festival currently taking South Africa and
Zimbabwe by storm.
