Apart from a huge portfolio of award-winning
professional dance theatre work, Flatfoot Dance Company’s commitment to growing
dance in KwaZulu-Natal over the last ten years of its professional life, sees
the company offering dance development projects and youth dance development
programmes to over 1000 KZN based children and youth each year. These
programmes are run in both rural and urban areas in KZN.
“Dance
Some More 2013 is the first of two annual concerts
that we host each year that showcases the dance training and development that
we do,” says Artistic Director, Lliane Loots. “We will showcase dancers from
our Umlazi, KwaMashu, Newlands East, Tugela Mouth and Kenneth Garden’s based
programmes, also with a special performance from LeftFeetFIRST!, our mixed
ability/integrated dance programme run in collaboration with the Open Air
School in Durban.”
Dance
Some More 2013 features choreography by the six resident
Flatfoot dancers: Sifiso Khumalo, Tshediso Kabulu, Sifiso Majola, Julia Wilson,
Jabu Siphika and Thobile Maphanga.
