Open dance auditions for the Mzansi Arts
Development Ensemble (MADE) dance studio will be held from May 10 to 14, 2013.
MADE is searching for males and females
between the ages of 18 to 35 with a raw talent for dance. The potential dancer
must show an interest, zeal, zest and display inner talent to want to take up
dancing as a career.
Auditions will take place from 09h00 to
16h00 on the following dates and at the specified venues and area:
May 10: KwaMashu Indoor Sports, KwaMashu
May 11: KK Hall, Claremont
May 12: Newtown A, Inanda
May 13: Lindelani Hall, Lindelani
May 14: V Hall, Umlazi
After each dance audition in the respective
areas on scheduled dates, potential dancers will be selected on the basis of
their talents, skills, ability to learn and thereby taking a career in dancing
to another level. Four of the best dancers will be selected per area thereby
forming a group of 20 dancers in total representing each of the areas i.e.
Umlazi, KwaMashu, Ntuzuma, Claremont, Inanda. Therefore a total of 20 dancers
will be selected, who will then undergo intensive training and education for
the different types of dances MADE will be availing to the youth.
The judging panel will include Lucky Cele,
Siyanda Mwandla and Vusi Makhanya.
Mzansi Arts Development Ensemble (MADE) is
a registered non-governmental, privately funded human rights and a community
driven organization based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The main purpose and
objective of the organization embarking on such an initiative is to provide a
vibrant, expressive and an information based platform for our young women,
youth and children to re-establish and re-affirm their cultural, heritage and
traditional values, principles and roots in this province.
