(Nomkhosi Mazibuko (vocals), Thulile Zama (vocals), Lindelwe Ngonelo (piano) and Rebekah Pillay (drums).)

Popular all-female jazz band, Heels over Head, will present their latest compositions and arrangements at the KZNSA Gallery tomorrow night.

Heels over Head are the winners of the Yamaha Young Talent Award in 2010 and were nominated for a South African Music Award in 2011. The funky foursome released their debut album Could It Be at the end of 2010, which racked up popular and critical acclaim. They promise newly recorded music before the year ends and have already released their arrangement of Ntyilo Ntyilo online. In the band’s new set-up they have added two very talented female instrumentalists: Maria Cohen on cello and Chillie Stent on guitar.

Renowned for their suave, sophisticated and sparkling stage presence, the band has found its groove and created a smooth, watertight brand of slinky soul-kissed contemporary jazz. Thulile Zama and Nomkhosi Mazibuko on vocals are joined by Lindelwe Ngonelo on keyboards and piano and Rebekah Pillay on drums to create the easy breezy jazz-pop that has become their signature sound.

The concert will take place tomorrow (July 26) at 18h00 at the KZNSA Gallery, 166 Bulwer Road, Glenwood , Durban. Tickets R60 at the door or call Arts Cafe on 031 201 9969 to book.
