As part of its 2013 World Symphony Series, the KZN
Philharmonic presents the annual National Youth Concerto Festival on October 3
under the baton of conductor Lykele Temmingh.
The Festival gives advanced music students the opportunity
to rehearse and perform with a professional orchestra, thereby opening doors to
a professional career. It comprises two categories: instrumental and vocal and is
open to all applicants who are bona fide music students, under the age of 25.
Applications from entrants wishing to audition must be
received by July 20, 2013.
Auditions will take place in Durban on August 3 following
auditions in Pretoria; Bloemfontein; Cape Town; Stellenbosch and Port Elizabeth.
