The
Centre for Jazz and Popular Music at the School of Arts (Music) at the
University of KwaZulu-Natal will present the local band 5th season tomorrow (August
21).
5th
Season was established in 2010 as a trio with Devon Hore on drums, Braydon Hore
on bass and Mthunzi Mo Mchunu on guitar. They now play regularly as a quartet,
including Ndumiso Ndlovu on piano, and more recently as a quintet with Janice
Joseph joining the group on vocals. Each one of these young musicians has an
academic background from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
5th
Season will present Jazz/Blues in a new light. Expect some original material,
standards and more contemporary numbers.
The
music starts at 18h00 (doors open at 17h30) on August 21 at the Centre for Jazz
and Popular Music, Level 2, Shepstone Building at UKZN Howard College Campus. Entry
