The Pietermaritzburg City Orchestra presents A Touch of Romance, a classical music
concert featuring music by some of the greatest Romantic composers, which will
take place at the Hilton College Theatre tomorrow (August 10).
Conducted by David Plank, the performance will feature
Jacques Heyns as the piano soloist for the first movement of Robert Schumann's
famous Piano Concerto in A-minor. The first half of programme also includes
works by Dvořák and Mendelssohn, most notably the Hebrides Overture.
The concert also features the Dum Spiro Spero Quintet,
performing Beethoven's Quintet in E-flat-major. Other items on the programme
include the glorious Blue Danube Waltz
by Johann Strauss Jr. and the ever-popular Radetsky
March by Johann Strauss Sr.
