THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

Michaelhouse with St Anne’s Diocesan College by arrangement with DALRO (Pty) Ltd representing The Really Useful Group, London will present The Phantom of the Opera.
With music by Andrew Loyd Webber and lyrics by Charles Hart and additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe, the show is taken from by book by Richard Stilgoe and Andrew Loyd Webber and is based on the Novel Le Fantome de ‘I’Opera by Gaston Leroux.

Beneath the majestic Paris Opera house, in the shadows of the tunnels and sewers that run beneath the romantic city, hides the Phantom. Above in the theatre it is business as usual, rehearsals, production meetings and shows. But the Phantom has a love that is larger than opera, his beautiful protégée Christine Daaé, whose own heart is battling to fight off the spell of the mysterious, masked ghost of the theatre.

This incredible theatrical experience will be supported by a professional sound and light set-up and promises to be an unforgettable Schlesinger Theatre happening. Choreographed by professionals, Tegan Peacock and Bonwa Mbontsi with costumes by Carlien Walters.

Directed by William le Cordeur with musical direction by Abri Venter, The Phantom of the Opera will have performances in the school’s Schlesinger Theatre on Sunday (August 18) at 14h00. This will be followed by performances on August 19, 20 and 21 at 19h00. Tickets R120 booked through Mrs Angela Jonsson by email theatre@michaelhouse.org or call 033 234 1314 (weekdays between 08h00 and 13h00). There will be complimentary tea and eats.
