The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music will present Swazi-born
vocalist, Zoe the Seed, on August 28.
Zoe holds a B-Prac in Jazz and Popular Music from the
University of KwaZulu-Natal and is currently working as the voice coach at the
BatCentre.
Zoe has performed with numerous Durban-based bands such as
Unlocked Keys and Deep Breath. She was also the drummer and one of the
vocalists for SAMA 17 best contemporary jazz nominees, Heels over Head. Her
experience has led her to perform in places like ICC, Hazelmere Dam, Durban
July, Howard College Theatre, cruise ships and many others.
Zoe the Seed will be joined by her band Nathi Zungu (piano),
Ildo Nandja (bass), Sphelelo Mazibuko (drums) and Mxolisi Mdlalose (tenor).
The performance takes place on August 28 at 18h00 (doors
open at 17h30) at the Centre for Jazz. Entry fee is R35 (R20 pensioners and R10
students).
