ENQOLOBANENI HERITAGE & ARTS

Enqolobaneni Heritage and Arts want to revive the art of storytelling while using Theatre as a medium.

The focus - in terms of location - is on peri-urban areas of KwaZulu-Natal. The project aims at doing workshops for three days when artists in those fields will be conducting and sharing information about their desired field of industry. The workshops comprise acting, coordinating stage plays, script writing and set building.

Enqolobaneni Heritage and Arts is looking for four community theatre groups in around KZN to inform them about the project aligned to each of their sectors. The project is about taking on already existing folktales and making them into edutainment stage plays that will be viewed by the community.

Therefore there will be an audition for the stage play allocated to that community. A rehearsal period of four weeks then a production will be the result- which will be performed on the Saturday of the fourth week.

Enqolobaneni Heritage and Arts in conjunction with Impucuzeko, a skills and training development production company, would like to get into contact with theatre community groups that would like to gain from this process.

Interested people should contact Lihle Dhlomo on 031 811 6289 or 031 811 6291 or email lihledhlomo@imucuzeko.co.za
