Durban University of Technology Lecturer in
the Faculty of Arts and Design Department of Drama and Production Studies,
Lloyd O’Connor has been appointed as the head of the School of Performance for
AFDA Durban Campus.
Lloyd has previously worked at Westville
Girls’ High, Northlands’ Girls High and then went onto the Durban University of
Technology where he worked in the Faculty of Arts and Design Department of
Drama and Production Studies, Drama Studies Programme. He was also the
Programme Co-ordinator for the Department which entailed a great deal of
academic management and administration.
Franco Human, the AFDA Durban Campus Dean
said: “We welcome Lloyd O’Connor with open arms to the AFDA Campus, the work
that he has done at the Durban University of Technology Drama Department has
been outstanding and we look forward to growing our footprint in Durban as an
academic institution”.
The newly appointed lecturer commented: “My
leaving is bitter sweet. I am, however, exceptionally excited and happy to be
the newly appointed Head of School of Performance for AFDA, Durban and I am
very fortunate for the calibre of my colleagues not only at the Durban Campus
but also on the Cape Town and Johannesburg Campuses.”
