October 12 will feature the debut performance of the full South
African New Music Ensemble as part of the NewMusic Indaba.
They
will be playing the first work specially commissioned for this ensemble, Fever Tree by South African composer
(and the Indaba’s composer in residence) Clare Loveday. Also on the programme
is Triadic Limbo (Alvin Curran), Les moutons de Panurge (Frederic
Rzewski) and In C (Terry Riley). The
ensemble will also play two short pieces selected from the scores submitted by
workshop participants.
The concert
takes place at 17h30 on October 12 at 17h30 in
Howard College at UKZN. Tickets R50 (R20 students/pensioners, free for NewMusicSA members) at
