Durban-raised Shaun P is an extraordinary artist and his brilliance has caught the eye of the 6^TH Crown Gospel Music Awards. He has received a nomination as Best Newcomer for his album, Everyday of my Life.

Growing up in Durban, Shaun P developed a love for music at the tender age of 11 when he started playing the piano. The young prodigy also pursued singing and built his voice into the vocal wonder it has become today. It was during his teen years that he realised a career in music was what he dreamed of, showing a distinct passion for the gospel genre.

With his nomination for the Crown Gospel Music Awards, Shaun P’s commitment to his art talent and love of music has been validated by the Gospel Music fraternity.
With his exceptional musical gift, Shaun P a flair for creating music that touches the soul. “Everyday of My Life” is a lyrical testimony to his life and talent; infusing many different genres and blurring the lines between traditional gospel and modern urban music.

The Crown Gospel Music Awards concept is a brainchild of Zanele Mbokazi, founder and President of the World Gospel Powerhouse. The idea came about in 2006 and two years later, the idea became a phenomenon to be reckoned with. The first awards were held in 2008 in the presence of thousands of gospel music loyalists. A number of remarkable gospel musicians from across Africa have been revered in the past four years and many have graced the Awards stage as they delivered poignant performances.

This year sees the 6th edition of the Crown Gospel Music Awards taking place at the ICC in Durban on November 17.
