BLACKADDER GOES FORTH

The BBC Entertainment channel 120 on DStv will present Blackadder Goes Forth from January 19 at 22h00.

Many great men have played a part in shaping Britain's noble heritage. Others have just ended up on the dungheap. Men like Edmund Blackadder. The Western Front 1917. A world-weary Captain Blackadder, veteran of numerous campaigns, suddenly finds himself in the trenches facing four million German machine guns having joined the British Army when it was little more than a travel agency for gentlemen with an abnormally high sex drive. He is not a happy man. He’d be slightly happier if General Melchett's battle plans were less suicidal and if Private Baldrick's cooking wasn't confined to rat.

The cast features Rowan Atkinson as Captain Edmund Blackadder with Tony Robinson as Private S Baldrick; Stephen Fry as General Melchett and Hugh Laurie as Lieutenant The Honourable George Colthurst St. Barleigh.
