A mixed bag of music, dance and drama is on
offer at Durban’s Stable Theatre in the weeks ahead.
Stable Theatre has announced it is to
present an appealing mix of drama, music and dance entertainment during
February and March 2014. These shows will be presented at the popular Durban
theatre centre, situated on Johannes Nkosi Street.
“Thanks to our funders, we at Stable
Theatre are delighted to be able to offer our patrons some fine entertainment
in the weeks ahead,” says Stable Theatre Centre Manager, Thanduxolo Zulu. “In
this regard, I should particularly like to thank Ethekwini Municipality, the
KZN Department of Arts and Culture, the National Lottery Distribution Trust
Fund, the National Arts Council and the KZN Performing Arts Trust for their
generous assistance in enabling us to mount shows at Stable Theatre.”
“Our upcoming productions will include: Masonwabe, a lunch hour programme
performed by female dancers (February 15); Maskandi dancers (February 6); a
one-day Maskandi Festival (February 15); an Isicathamiya competition (February 22);
Animal Farm (February 24 to 28); an
Ingoma Competition (March 1); the annual Phambili Festival (March 3) presented
by Stable Theatre in association with Twist Theatre Development Project; and
two dramas, titled All Gone (March 14
to 16) and Last Supper (March 28 to
30). Details about each show will be released shortly.”
