Local entertainer Cat Simoni is back in
Michaelhouse’s Schlesinger Theatre with Cat’s
American Songbook!, a highly entertaining, educational and witty history of
the American musical genre.
Written by Paul Spence, it played to sell-out
performances and standing ovations at the Auto & General,
Theatre-on-the-Square in Sandton.
The show includes some of the greatest
songs ever written - classics from legends like the Gershwin brothers, Irving
Berlin, Jerome Kern, Dorothy Fields, Hoagy Carmichael, Harold Arlen, Richard
Rodgers, Lorenz Hart, Oscar Hammerstein, Leonard Bernstein and Cole Porter.
Simoni’s pure, true voice is a perfect match for the inspirational melodies and
unforgettable lyrics which flowed from the hearts of America's finest
songwriters. Spiced with anecdotes and typically quirky Cat humour, Cat's American Songbook! is a flight of
fancy down memory lane not to be missed.
This is a show for the young, old and
anyone who just wants a good old fashioned night out.

American Songbook! takes place at the Schlesinger
