Following on from the colourful
Indian cinema titles released in January, Ster-Kinekor has four new titles in
February to celebrate the month of love. In addition to the romantic theme,
there is also a fair share of action, adventure and thrills a minute with the releases of Hasee Toh Phasee, Gunday, Nimirnthu Nil and Highway at Ster-Kinekor Gateway
in Durban and Ster-Kinekor The Zone in Rosebank, Johannesburg.
Hasee Toh Phasee is a comedy love story which takes place over a period
of seven years and seven days. It revolves around a down-to-earth, middle-class
working man, who falls in love with his beloved spouse's younger sister. In the
midst of this confusion, the truth about relationships unfolds, the strength of
unions is tested and ultimately, love triumphs. Starring Sidharth Malhotra,
Parineeti Chopra and Adah Sharma, the film is directed by Vinil Mathew and
produced by Karan Johar.
Gunday
is a Bollywood film that tells the story of two characters during one of the
most turbulent times in the history of Kolkata, (then Calcutta), from 1971 to
1988. Bikram and Bala rose from small time wagon breakers and coal thieves to
become the most powerful black marketing mafia-men. Sharing a rare combination
of vigour and wit, the two are inseparable and the city of Kolkata swears by
their friendship. As their notoriety spreads into the stuff of legends, the
people of this sprawling city start calling these two carefree rebels ‘Gunday’.

Highway
is an action adventure film about a young city girl who is abducted one
evening, while on the highway with her fiancé. Their wedding is set to take
place within the next four days. However, the young girl is taken away by a
group of rural criminals and her life instantly changes. The film was directed
by Imtiaz Ali and stars Randeep Hooda and Alia Bhatt.
Nimirnthu Nil
is a Tamil action-thriller film, written and directed by Samuthirakani, and
starring Jayam Ravi and Amala Paul. It follows the story of the lead actor as a
revolutionist for a social cause. The film has simultaneously been produced in
Telugu as Janda Pai Kapiraju. Nimirnthu
Nil will
be released at Ster-Kinekor Gateway in Durban on February 28.
