Mncube Productions is holding an urgent casting audition for
a female actress.
The organisation is looking for a strong, powerful, skilful
and multi-talented actress to play in the one-woman show Giving Birth to My Father produced by Mncube Productions and mentored
by Roel Twijnstra. She must be very good in comic timing and a clever actress.
The production will be staged at the Grahamstown National Arts Festival this
year
The character of Nomathemba is 37 years old. She was
arrested 18 years and has spent all this time in prison. On the day she gets
her freedom back, she is afraid to walk out of jail. She survived her long
prison sentence by using her imagination. What she doesn’t know is that
imagination is waiting for her outside.
If you think you have what it takes, book an audition slot on
February 22 at Stable Theatre from 09h00 to 13h00. Auditionees should prepare a
one minute comic/dramatic monologue (NB it must be comic and dramatic at the
same time) as well as a song of choice.
