Tomorrow evening (February 18), Friends of Music will host a
recital with Peter Bruns from Berlin who has established an excellent
reputation in the international music world as one of Germany’s leading
cellists.
Accompanying him will be Annegret Kuttner, also from
Germany, who impresses audiences with the naturalness of her interpretation,
lightness and clarity of her playing.
The programme will include Robert Schumann’s Adagio and
Allegro Op. 70; Frèdéric Chopin’s Sonate pour Piano et Violoncelle Op. 65 –
dèdièe “á son ami Aug. Frenchomme”
and Johannes Brahms’s Sonata for piano and cello F-Major Op.99.
The Prelude Performer will be Amy Diack (recorder). In 2013
she won trophies at both the Queensburgh Festival and the Ethekwini Eisteddfod
and obtained a distinction for the Trinity Guildhall Grade 8 practical exam.
She will perform Van Eyck’s Amarilli Mia
Bella and Engelse Nachtegal’s Sonatine for recorder and piano Hand -
Movements 2 & 3. She will be accompanied on the piano by Bobby Mills.
The recital will take place on February 18 at 19h45 at the Durban
Jewish Centre, 44 Old Fort (K E Masinga) Road, Durban. Tickets R70 (R60 FOM Members
