Journeying
On is an offering by young, talented composer and
lyricist Sihle Zungu who brought some of Durban’s most talented young and high
skilled jazz musicians together to perform his compositions. His music has a
basis of jazz, but also reggae and gospel influences. He brings music lovers
his unique perspective and experience through love songs, social awareness
songs and spiritual songs.
“I would like to continue to express myself
through music as I learn more about it and to ultimately be a source of good
inspiration for others,” Sihle Zungu. “With this project I have dreams of
taking it beyond South African borders and for the band to continue to benefit
meaningfully from it.”
The Journeying On band consists of Ndu
Shezi (lead vocal), Lindelwe Ngonelo (piano), Mxolisi Mdlalose (sax), Sidney
Rash (drums) and Ildo Nandja (bass).
The Journeying
On Live album was recorded in 2013 at Grahamstown Arts Festival and The
Jazzy Rainbow in Durban. The CD Launch will take place at the KZNSA Gallery on Friday
(March 8) at 19h00. Tickets R120 includes the CD (R60 excluding CD) booked on 031
