Audiences can expect high drama when the gripping
three-hand stage production, Last Supper, plays at Stable Theatre in
Durban at the end of March.
Presented
by Ebukhosini Productions in association with Stable Theatre, Last Supper
is written by Ntando Mhlongo and directed by Themba Luthuli.
An
anniversary is turned into judgment day when the abusive, if not insane husband
(Nelson) unveils a secret about his once unfaithful wife (Emily). Their only
daughter (Liza), who has endured years of agony, pain and abuse, sides with her
remorseful mother.
Nelson's
anger peaks with the unfolding of the past and the two defenceless women who
have had to stomach their anger and hatred for years finally get a chance to
put an end to the abuse. His inability to forgive or at least reconcile the
past with the present erupts for the first and the last time. Nelson, the
shameless sadist, dares them to end this misery ...
Xoliswa
Ngema plays Emily, Nomvula Mbokazi takes the role of Liza, and Thulani Mngandi
appears as Nelson. The duration of the show is one hour. Last Supper is stage managed by Fundile Cebekhulu.
Last Supper has three performances: March 28 at 19h00; March
29 at 14h00, and March 30 at 18h00. Tickets R40 available at the door or booked
through Computicket on 0861 915 8000 at Shoprite Checkers outlets, or online at
