The next rendezvous of the Living Poets Society
(LiPS) will take place on March 5.
The Guest Poet to grace the stage is Angela
Chetty who has been writing poetry for the past 11 years and has recently
published an anthology of poetry titled Heartfelt
Moments.
Angela Chetty lives in Durban. She is
passionate about people and strongly believes that words have the power to
touch the heart and change the mind. Chetty uses simple, yet powerful words to
pen thoughts from her heart. She dedicates this debut compilation to her late
mum, Leela Chetty, who has been her strength and support, strongly believing in
her, motivating and encouraging her to publish her work. Chetty expresses
heartfelt passion to her prose over the years, reflected in the depth of her
poetry.
This debut compilation is a dream realized,
imbibed with a passion that energizes the poetic rhetoric within its pages.
Chetty pens her prose straight from the heart, and they cut across different
genres to dive straight into the reader’s souls to touch his or her inner
being. Her poetry encompasses a treasure trove of inspiring emotional
experiences that delve into a multitude of essential human themes, ultimately expressing
the wonder of life in its paradoxical totality, and bringing a timeless and
uplifting message of hope and optimism to readers everywhere.
Angela has chosen “Celebrating Life” as a
positive theme for the evening.
The Live Poets Society meets on the first
Wednesday of each month. Poets and lovers of poetry are welcome to listen and
to read and to share their works and to discuss poetry in all its varied forms
and uniqueness.
