A new
Bollywood film that offers a comedic and different view on contemporary
life, was
released last month at select Ster-Kinekor cinemas. Titled Bewakoofiyaan it is a contemporary life story that sets out to turn
set notions about relationships on their head.
Mohit
Chadhdha (Ayushmann Khurrana) and Mayera Sehgal (Sonam Kapoor) are a young,
middle-class, corporate couple who are ambitious and love the good things in
life. They are also passionately in love with each other, but there is one
hurdle they need to overcome: Mayera's willfully bureaucratic father, V. K.
Sehgal (Rishi Kapoor).
Mohit is
a marketing whiz kid vying for a step up the corporate ladder. Mayera is a
financial brain with a penchant for shoes. They work hard, they party hard.
Their mantra: you can live on love and fresh air. However, Mayera’s obstinate father
is of the belief that only a rich man can bring true happiness to his precious
daughter – and a mid-level executive such as Mohit is simply not good enough!
Bewakoofiyaan stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Sonam Kapoor and
Rishi Kapoor, and is directed by Nupur Asthana. The script was developed by the
versatile writer/director Habib Faisal and is produced by Aditya Chopra.
