Prepare to discover a rocking fairy tale
this Easter weekend where every prince will find his princess in the brand new
production, Fairytale Rocks. The
production kicks off its national tour at iZulu Theatre at Sibaya Casino, an
extravaganza show which is suitable for the whole family.
Discover a world of imagination and delight
where wishing is only the beginning, and dreams really do come true. This
magical children’s show incorporates a variety of Disney movies where the story
is intertwined to make a wondrous love story.
Join Alistar, our hero, and his friend
Farryl as they set out on a journey, where audiences join in and help Alistar
find his princess, the beautiful Ariana. Along the way, we hit the high notes
from all of Disney and Pixar’s song classics; Aladdin, The Lion King, Cinderella, Toy Story, Mulan, The Jungle Book,
The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Hercules, and of course Shrek and the recent release, Frozen.
Pinetown-raised, musician and actor, Steve
Peralto plays Alistar, the gorgeous Xania Osorio plays Ariana and 2010 Top Ten
Idols performer, Boki Ntsime plays the faithful friend Farryl that will lead
you through the fairy tale.
Assisting the heroes on their quest for
love will be six top dancers from around South Africa. Performing alongside the
leads are Rethabile Sefodi, Jeremia Banda, Monique Bouwer, Ayanda Mthimkhulu,
Lyrinda Venter and Megan Black. The show also features a rocking live band with
Marc Wilson on drums, brothers Daniel on guitar and Doultan Robson on bass.
Producer, Glen Beever from Frog Productions
enthuses: “We have a strong cast and some fantastic music. We have intertwined
popular Disney music into a love story that young and old are sure to enjoy!
This is our first time performing in Durban, and we are delighted to be
bringing this brand new show here.”
The fairy tale hits are remixed to the
hottest sounds of today featuring hip hop, pop, swing, reggae, rock, country
and much more. The irresistible line-up of performers, including power house
singers, funky dancers and the live band, are featured in this rocking fairy
tale fit for the entire family.
Featuring dynamic storytelling, award
winning music, stunning costumes and glittering special effects, audiences will
be captivated by the humour, fun and adventure of this spellbinding story.
