ANDREW VERSTER COLOURING-IN COMPETITION

(Prize winners & judges: Rick Andrew, Kyle Loveridge, Debi Frizelle, Johanni Ackermann, Andrew Verster, Heather Mills, Nicole Pletts. Not in picture, Gillian Gerhardt)

The Andrew Verster Colouring-in Competition is currently running at Artisan Gallery. Having as its inspiration the drawings from Andrew Verster's delightful book, it has turned out to be a tremendous event, with such a buzz of enthusiasm and creativity as participants from all walks or life rediscovered the therapeutic joy of colouring-in and doodling.

“There has been a steady flow of visitors coming to admire the widely divergent approaches,” says Ingrid Lotter Smith, Artisan’s owner. “Several participants mentioned that they have not ventured into any form of art since childhood. In fact one of the participants, Anita who lives in Gauteng, had her work couriered here, and she and her husband specially drove to Durban to join us at the opening.

Both Andrew Verster and Rick Andrew, the two judges, were delighted with the high standard of the interpretations.

Artisan pays tribute to all participants and sponsors for their generous support of this fund-raising event.

The winners included: Nicole Pletts (Spectrum Voucher); Kyle Loveridge (Village Hardware Voucher); Debi Frizelle (Freedom Cafe Voucher), and Johanni Ackermann (Spectrum Voucher).

Featured participants were Deirdre Schoultz; Anne Cleveland; Janet Noot; Nola Mitchell; Sharon McClelland; Karen Bradtke; Anita Govan; Sandra Hogg; Michelle de Lange; Anthea Martin; Stephen Milborrow, and Ann-Marie Nason.

The finalists are requested to collect their vouchers from the gallery when they collect their work. All work is to be collected on June 31, between 09h00 and 13h00 unless other arrangements have been made.

“We have had so many requests for additional copies to be printed of Andrew Verster’s Colouring In book that we have started an order list,” adds Ingrid Lotter Smith. “If the limited edition was sold out before you obtained your copy BOOK NOW! If we receive sufficient orders we will reprint an additional 100. The cost per book is R250. We will contact you for prepayment as soon as we have sufficient orders. You can email or phone Artisan Gallery to make your booking.”
