(Acclaimed
aerial artist Alexander Streltsov performs “Aerial-Silks”)
An exciting production awaits Johannesburg
audiences with Cirque de la Symphonie.
Back by popular demand since its sold-out performances
in the Artscape Theatre complex last year, this exciting production brings the
magic of cirque to the music hall. It is an thrilling adaptation of artistic
performances widely seen in theatres and arenas everywhere. Artists include the
most amazing veterans of exceptional cirque programmes throughout the world –
aerial flyers, acrobats, contortionists, dancers, jugglers, balancers, and
strongmen.
Each artist’s performance is professionally
choreographed to classical masterpieces and popular contemporary music in
collaboration with maestro Theodore Kuchar and the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra.
The programme will include favourites from
Bizet’s Carmen, Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty as well as works by Dvorak, Bernstein and
Shostakovich.
The performance follows the highly
successful appearance of this production in Durban and Cape Town.
Cirque
de la Symphonie takes place at The Mandela, Joburg
Theatre on June 27 and 28 at 20h00 with a matinee at 15h00 on June 28.
