Ster-Kinekor releases a new Telegu title, Manam, at Gateway in Durban
Manam is comedy period drama, directed in 2014 by Vikram Kumar. It
focuses on various time periods between the 1920s to the 2030s, and deals with
the concepts of reincarnation and "eternal love".
It is about the attempts of a wealthy
businessman, played by the late Nageswara Rao, to bring together a young couple
who resemble his deceased parents, Radha Mohan and Krishnaveni. Simultaneously
he encounters Anjal (Shriya Saran) and an old man, Chaitanya (Akkineni
Nageswara Rao). Nageswar Rao and Anjali resemble Chaitanya's late parents,
Seetharamudu and Ramlakshmi respectively, who died in a car accident at the
same location where Nageswar Rao's parents died in 1983. This causes Chaitanya
to also try and bring them together. The movie rotates around a few twists,
bound to keep audiences entertained throughout the film.
