The Barnyard Theatre at Gateway is staging a special
performance today (July 18) of its current production, Time Warp, to cater for children on their mid-year school holidays.
The show will take place at 11h00 (the theatre opens at 10h00) and tickets are
only R80 per person.
This morning show will be a slightly shortened version of Time Warp which has received rave
reviews. The show is an all-engaging experience complete with explosive dance
sequences that takes audiences on a heady journey through the best musicals and
movies of all time. It follows Dotty who, after being caught in a whirlwind
time warp, lands on The Barnyard stage where she is faced with new
opportunities, hopes and dreams.
This excitement leads her down the musical yellow brick road
on her search for fame. She eventually replaces her red shoes with dancing ones
with the iconic soundtracks from the likes of Dirty Dancing, Saturday Night Fever, Grease, Top Gun and Men In Black.
Time Warp features
Kyle Matthews (also host), Marvin Nethononda and Josh Ansley on male vocals;
with Nadine Sisam (also taking on the role of Dotty) and Londiwe Dhlomo on
female vocals. The band is made up of Calli Thomson (keyboards), Nic Rush
(guitar & vocals), Bongani Sokhela (bass guitar) and Dylan van der Linde
(drums); while the show also features two fabulous dancers - Drew Mathie and
Twitch.
