GEEJAYS IN BAD MOON RISING

(John Didlick, Grant Bell & Gary McKenzie)

First staged seven years ago at the now-defunct Heritage Theatre in Hillcrest, Durban’s longest running comedy cabaret group, the ever-popular Gee Jays, will present their smash hit show Bad Moon Rising for three shows only from July on 25 at Tina’s Hotel in Kloof.

The Gee Jays, comprising Gary McKenzie, Grant Bell and John Didlick, celebrate and pay tribute to the music of Credence Clearwater Revival and all things redneck.

The show features all the hits from one of the super-groups of the ‘70’s. From Have You Ever Seen The Rain, Up Around The Bend and Heard it Through the Grapevine to Looking Out My Back Door,  Hello Mary Lou, The Midnight Special and, of course, Bad Moon Rising.

The Deep South roots and swamp pop rockabilly sounds of Credence are brilliantly captured by the talented trio. The show also has the usual, zany looks at life and comic sketches audiences have come to expect from The Gee Jays. It also showcases other classic country songs like Teach Your Children, Oh Lord It’s Hard To Be Humble, Thank God I’m A Country Boy and Take Me Home Country Road.

Bring an open mind and laughing tackle, because the show pokes and prods at all things country and is bound to have audiences in stitches.

Bad Moon Rising runs on July 25, 26 and 27 at Tina’s Hotel in Kloof. The show will presented in “supper theatre” format. Supper, in the form of a limited a la carte menu, will be served from 19h00. The show starts at 20h30 on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, lunch (carvery lunch) is from 12h30 with the show starting at 14h00. Tickets R185 pp for the meal and show. Show only option available at R120pp (ie no meal included)

Bookings can be made on 031 764 7843.
