Interpreting Ceramics is the title of the exhibition of
innovative ceramics to be held from July 15 and presented by The Regional
Exhibition of the Ceramics Southern Africa Association.
The KZNSA’s sympathetic
white spaces offer an ideal venue for viewing original hand-crafted ceramics of
KwaZulu-Natal. This is a great opportunity to snap up original ceramics.
Exhibiting on the
exhibition will be the Fellows of the Ceramics Association: Garth Hoets,
Lindsay Scott and Andrew Walford.
Specially invited
artists are Rayson Hiyani, Ann Schultz and Rita Senekal, who will show
expressive to functional ceramics along with 25 members of the Ceramics
Association.
As part of the
exhibition co-curator of the Ceramics Association, Anthea Martin, is curating
painted ceramic fish, by invited fine artists of Durban which will be displayed
as a shoal of fish on one of the gallery walls.
A ceramic workshop
for students from local schools will take place on July 26 from 11h30 to 15h30.
Interpreting Ceramics runs at the KZNSA Gallery from July 15 to
August 3. The opening will take place at 18h00 on July 15.
