The Centre for Jazz at the University of KwaZulu-Natal will
host OZMA, an explosive jazz quartet from France on July 22.
The name OZMA's Jazz means energy and openness, freedom of
swing music and effectiveness of rock - within groovy compositions and a
formidable team spirit. Colourful, explosive, exciting and always generous, the
band OZMA lies between a mutant band and a jungle of sound. It is a group of
nowadays, defending its creative and eclectic music with heart.
OZMA won the 2006 National Jazz Competition Jazz a la Défensein
Parissicians and has played in over 120 concerts across Europe, Africa and
Asia.
Join OZMA: Adrien Dennefeld (guitar), Stéphane Scharlé
(drums), Edouard Séro-Guillaume (bass) and David Florsch on saxophones at the Centre
for Jazz and Popular Music on July 22. Doors open at 17h30 and music starts at
