Presented by The
Rainbow Restaurant and The Alliance Française, Ozma will perform at the Rainbow
Restaurant this afternoon (Sunday, July 27).
OZMA’s originality:
a searching spirit, a universe of sonic interactions, and truly melodic compositions.
On one hand OZMA seems to be a mutant jazz band, on the other, an electric
jungle of sounds, a group of nowadays, working within the heritage of rock,
jazz, and experimental musics. John Hollenbeck, Dave Holland, Medeski, Miles
Davis, Cinematic Orchestra are never far away, like echoes of a climate that
drives listeners far away from their seats.
Riffs,
counterpoints, explosions of sound... OZMA develops itself by drawing a precise
art line, researching sensitive potentials and producing evocative energy.
Living spaces of freedom, interactions, narrative developments and climates of
fun... a whole program for a singular jazz show.
Ozma performs with Stéphane
Scharlé (drums); Edouard Séro-Guillaume (bass) and David Florsch (saxophones).
