THE STUDENT EXPO

Africa’s largest gathering of students and parents.

The Student Expo is the only exhibition aimed at students, school-leavers as well as graduates and even parents. It offers potential students and decision makers a 360 degree view of student life, covering the most important aspects, by bringing together key organisations within the tertiary, financial, transportation, accommodation, skills development and training arena.

The Student Expo is a very beneficial platform for high school students, who have not yet decided which path to take in terms of their future careers as well as what study choices they have.

After taking place in July in Johannesburg, the Expo will move to KZN where it will take place in August at Hillcrest Corner.

The Student Expo was designed to guide, direct and open up a broad range of future possibilities that students could consider. Scholars preparing to begin their journey into tertiary education will have the opportunity to gain a better insight into what they are able to study and where. Further to that, an understanding of what student life entails as well as the social and sporting aspect of tertiary education is highlighted. They are able to explore options presented by a range of universities and learn how to secure loans, transportation options and manage their finances whilst living out of home.

Students have the prospect of meeting influential industry leaders and view presentations by tertiary institutions. All of this will assist in gaining insight into the programmes available, as well as where their future careers may lead them. Psychometric testing is recommended, giving students a better idea of what careers suit their personality type. All of this essentially may direct them in making the correct decisions and understanding what would be expected of them in each profession. Accommodation options will be available for students to consider.

Existing and new students will be provided with suggestions on further study options and possible recruitment opportunities locally and internationally. Assistance on putting together a professional CV and learning interview skills will also be accessible.

Parents are able to get more clarity from different universities as well as colleges enabling them to support their children in making major life decisions. Not only is this expo for the students, but also for working people who missed an opportunity in the past. Anyone else considering a career change, an enhancement of an existing career or those wanting to take extra mural evening classes will also benefit greatly.

Student Expo will take place at Hillcrest Corner from August 29 to 30 from 09h00 to 18h00. Entrance is free.
