(Kasia Vosloo &
Karen Logan)
Tomorrow’s Mondays at Six @ St Clements programme features Dear Breeder directed by Iain 'Ewok'
Robinson and featuring Karen Logan and Kasia Vosloo. It’s described as a
mad-cap two-woman show inspired by the performers’ first-hand experience of
being breeders themselves.
Dear Breeder won
two awards at the Musho! Theatre Festival 2014 and also picked up a coveted
Standard Bank Ovation Award at Grahamstown's National Arts Festival.
“I think what people really respond to is the way we’ve
captured some of the insanity, hilarity and joy of being a parent today,” says
Karen Logan, who effortlessly switches between three very different South
African mothers thrown together in an effort to make a success of a local
primary school’s Nativity play.
Kasia Vosloo plays the quirky, recently-pregnant drama
teacher, Ms du Bois, whose hilarious folk-parody songs provide satirical
commentary to the mothers' antics.
The evening will also feature a selection of spoken word
poetry from Ewok.
Dear Breeder can be seen tomorrow (Monday August 11) between 18h00 and 19h00 at St Clements which is situated at 191
Musgrave Road. Booking is advised on 031 202 2511. There is no cover charge but
there is a donations box to support presenters.
