Catch éVoid, the
original band from the 80’s, direct from London as they undertake a South
African tour on The Barnyard Theatre circuit. On August 26 at 20h00, they will
once again bring down the house with hits like Shadows, Taximan and I Am A
Fadget at the Gateway venue.
Some will remember
dressing up as “fadgets” and queuing for hours outside the Chelsea Hotel in
Hillbrow, while others may recall the Varsity Tour in 1984 when the floor caved
in from everyone jumping up and down to Shadows at the Stellenbosch Town Hall.
The éVoid band
members are reuniting to return to South Africa and the long-awaited tour
celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Gold-selling debut album that launched
their ethnotronic journey. Brothers Lucien and Erik Windrich will be joined by
veteran musicians Johan Buys on bass and Mike Horne on drums, and they will be
playing all of their oldies and much more!
The Barnyard
Theatre at Gateway has established itself as a hugely popular live-music venue
with many of South Africa’s top bands and performers. Part of the appeal of The
Barnyard Theatre for live music is that it is an intimate venue with great
sound and lighting. It also offers a laid-back environment where patrons are
able to enjoy food and drinks before and during the show seated at tables and
counters, especially making use of the weekend performances. Audience members
can also meet the band in the bar after the show to buy paraphernalia and get
autographs (remember to bring along your éVoid vinyl!).
éVoid will appear
at the Barnyard, Gateway, on August 26 at 20h00. Tickets R180 pp and seating
will be as for normal shows, with no standing room. For bookings and enquiries,
