The Guest Poet to grace the stage for the Live Poets Society
(LiPS) September meeting is Angela Chetty who has recently published an
anthology of poetry titled Heartfelt
Moments.
Chetty lives in Durban and has been avidly writing poetry
for the last 11 years. She dedicates this debut compilation to her late mum,
Leela Chetty, who has been her strength and support, strongly believing in her,
motivating and encouraging her to publish her work. Chetty expresses heartfelt
passion to her prose over the years, reflected in the depth of her poetry.
A dream realized, Chetty’s debut work is an inspirational
Anthology of Poetry that will appeal to all readers with its contemporary style
that uses simple words to weave emotionally resonant messages with the power to
touch hearts and change lives for the better. Readers will find themselves
experiencing the emotional totality of the human condition and gaining a
newfound appreciation for life in its whole sum, as her rhymes and verses take
them to a voyage to experience Heartfelt Moments.
This message is best captured in the verses of Beauty of life which read: “What, you
ask yourself, is this life / With its intricacies and idiosyncrasies? / The joy
of living / Is life itself.”
Chetty has chosen Celebrating
Life as a positive theme for the evening.
The Live Poets Society meets on the first Wednesday of each
month. Poets and lovers of poetry are welcome to listen and to read and to
share their works and to discuss poetry in all its varied forms and uniqueness.
The LiPS Rendezvous will take place at A Novel Idea, 157
Blair Atholl Road in Westville North (next door to the vet) on September 3 at 18h30
for 19h00. Admission is free.
