EARTHDANCE KZN

The Earthdance KZN Global Peace Party for 2014 kicks off its three day, two night event from 15h00 tomorrow (September 19) to September 21 ad 17h00 at Highover Lodge on the banks of the Mkomazi River in Richmond, KZN at a cost of R220 which can purchased at Nomads Backpackers in Musgrave or through Quicket until September 19 or R250 at the gate on the day of the event.

Earthdance is the world’s largest annual synchronized global music and dance event for peace. Since 1997, Earthdance has been held in over 700 locations in 60 countries, and presented thousands of DJs and artists. The highlight of the Earthdance global event is the Prayer for Peace music track, played at the same moment at all locations.

Over its 18 year history, Earthdance events have provided support to hundreds of peace, sustainability, and social justice charities. Earthdance is aligned with the global United Nations Peace Day observance, held on September 21 each year.

Funds raised from Earthdance KwaZulu-Natal will sponsor organic community food security initiatives seeded through Citi-zen Peace Gardens and The Abundance project.

“The global link-up is an affirmation of peace on all levels – personal, family, community, nations, and peace for and with the Earth itself. The aim of the festival is also to create a better understanding of the concept that "We are One Global Family, One Global Community", says DJ Emn8, Earthdance KZN 2014 co-ordinator.

With two dance floors – The Tranceformation Station and the DMZ (De-Militarized Zone) - and an explosive line up of bands and performers including the likes of Luke Falconer, Free Haine, Delwyn Foster, Undivided Roots, Nix Bantwana, Weston & Engine, The Pre-Adamites & Organic Poets, as well as a finely tuned blend of Dub, Ambient, Psydub, Reggae, Intelligent Deep House, Folk, Swing, Experimental Poetic Improvisations and more, including beats from Downtempo DJs including Freedom Steppa, Afroviking, Blaq Q7, Khaya, Illuminaartjie, Drumshak Jon, Psypixie, Dr Nonono, Choppers, James, Selecta Relentless, Emn8, Redeye Mabande, Jinx, plus special guests appearances, music lovers are sure to transcend into a vibrant peace celebration along with other likeminded party goers.

Also on the list is DJ Lee Human, one of KZN's favourite DJ’s and an organic cucumber farmer. Human has been bringing smiles to the dance floor for over a decade with his finely honed mixing skills that deliver smooth beats and technical wizardry with an irie vibe.
