(Ralph Lawson, who will direct the show)
Audition Date: September 9 between 14h00 and17h00
The Playhouse Company is holding auditions for professional
performers to take part in its upcoming production of Skungpoomery.
This will be staged daily in the Loft Theatre during the
festive season.
Written by Ken Campbell and adapted by Anita Page, Skungpoomery - which means “thinking up
words and doing them” - is described as a manic, anarchic, iconoclastic romp
whose humour is buttressed with pratfalls, wild chases, absurd disguises and will
appeal to young audiences.
The production will be directed by Ralph Lawson and will
rehearse at the Playhouse from November 3, and will perform until the end of
December.
Auditions will take place at The Playhouse Company rehearsal
Room A1, 29 Acutt Street, Durban on September 9 between 14h00 and 17h00. To
secure an audition slot, prospective candidates should prepare a humorous poem
or a short monologue and contact Sifiso Sikhakhane on 031 369 9457 or email: artscoordinator@playhousecompany.com
during office hours.
Local performers from all communities are welcome!
