Former radio presenter and sports commentator Mike Toms passed away at
the age of 80 at his home in the KZN Midlands on October 4, after a long battle
with ill health.
He had worked with the SABC through its various stages from the English
Service to Radio South Africa to SAfm and was also a sports commentator on
Radio Port Natal (now East Coast Radio). He was the originator of the DJ shows
at Drive-Ins and eventually owned the rights nationwide.
Mike Toms He was also a co-presenter on the hugely popular radio shows, The
Super Duper Shopper Show and The Springbok Radio Christmas Fund.
