(Brian Finch)
Brian Finch will launch his new CD in intimate style at
Tina’s Hotel in Kloof on November 8 and 9.
Recorded at Peace of Eden Studios in Knysna with Howard
Butcher producing, this is Brian’s 13th album to date and has been
two to three years in the making.
Says Brian “After many fans were asking for a new album, and
while living in the solitude of Prince Albert in the Karoo, I have been writing
songs over the past couple of years, in between touring and performing. One
needs new material and I love coming up with new songs, it’s what my life is
all about - being able to share special moments gives me great satisfaction and
I cannot wait for the response from my fans. The years are flying by so fast, I
realise that all my songs are about Living for Yesterday, hence the
title. I have dedicated this album to the memory of the late great guitarist
and friend, Ken E Henson, RIP my brother”.
The CD launch tour, where Brian plays songs from Living
for Yesterday as well as many
golden oldies from his vast catalogue, began in Jefferies Bay (where he spent
many good days surfing) and takes in Grahamstown, East London, Richmond,
Durban, Johannesburg and Pretoria. Then it’s home for a rest before touring
Namibia and heading overseas once more.
Brian will be joined by Dan Chiorboli on percussion and
Wayne Coghlan on electric, steel and slide guitar.
The launch is
presented in “supper theatre” format and has two performances only at Tina’s
Hotel in Kloof.
