STARS OF THE MORNING!

The Schlesinger Theatre at Michaelhouse is to present Stars of the Morning!, the story of Michaelhouse boy, Brian Kramer, who grows up to love his school and family in equal measure.

The musical charts the life of young Brian, from Zululand childhood to Highbury and Michaelhouse during the turbulent years of the 1930’s and 40’s – and his awakening awareness of the brave sacrifice made by Michaelhouse boys in both First and Second World Wars.

The musical includes a wide variety of timeless 20th century songs; from the war years, popular English songs from the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s; the works of great Broadway composer, Richard Rodgers; Jaques Brel, songs from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, a beautiful waltz composed by Edward Brett, Michaelhouse Music Master and Brian’s tutor, as well as original songs written by Brian Kramer.

Brian’s original musical play, Up And Coming!, a story of adolescent love lost and found set in the rock ‘n roll years of the 1950’s, is included within the musical.

Stars of the Morning! is a celebration of Michaelhouse, and all that it is to be young.

Produced by old boy Brian Kramer, the cast and production team host a number of professionals.
