Community Media
Trust (CMT) a national NGO, is taking applications for four trainee content
producer positions. Trainees will receive a salary while they go through
on-the-job training to produce documentary inserts for the well-known
Siyayinqoba brand. Trainees will learn the following skills:
Sourcing subjects
and writing treatments for documentary inserts
Set-up of shoots
Set up and conducting
of interviews for documentary inserts
Filming interviews
to broadcast quality standards
Administrative
requirements such as release forms, call sheets, petty cash and so on.
Introduction to
editing and how footage is edited into inserts.
Trainees must be
prepared to appear on camera. They will be required to work fulltime on the
production which may involve twelve-hour days and six-day weeks. They will be
required to work from CMT offices.
The organisation is
looking for four candidates – one from each of the following areas: Gauteng
(based in Jhb), KZN (based in PMB), Eastern Cape (based in East London), and
the Western Cape (based in Rondebosch, Cape Town).
Requirements are strong
verbal and written communication skills, excellent organizational, time and
self-management skills as well as Matric. Computer literacy and competency in
written and spoken English are also required.
Tertiary
qualification in Journalism, Communications or Media fields would be
advantageous.
