To celebrate the end of 2014, The Barnyard Theatre at
Gateway has lined up a retro party with their festive season show, 80’s
Rewind.
The Barnyard Theatre at Gateway’s Christmas Eve show
on December 24 has become a tradition with many families who choose to see in
the big day in a festive, family-friendly environment. Domestic goddesses are
summonsed to cast aside dishes, as a carefree afternoon at The Barnyard is the
perfect antidote to holiday mayhem.
The show will entertain children of all ages, take
grandparents on a trip down memory lane and impress out-of-town visitors … all
you need to do is kick back and relax. The theatre will open at 18h00 and the
show will start at 20h00, and tickets will cost the usual R155 per person.
The Barnyard has also developed an enviable reputation
for its fabulous New Year’s Eve show and after-party, and they promise a
festive send-off of 2014 and a roof-raising welcome of 2015. Once the show is
over, the band gets the chance to indulge in a real session, as they take audiences
through the last 30 minutes of this year before doing the mandatory new year
countdown.
They’ll party with patrons into the first 20 minutes
of 2015 after which Durban’s favourite event DJ, David Yapp, will keep the
music pumping until the early hours. The theatre will open at 19h30 and the
show will start at 21h00, and tickets will cost R340 per person.
80’s Rewind, which runs
until January 11, features a colourful and versatile cast that will take
audiences back to a time of synth pop, new wave and arena rock in the most
authentic 80’s style. Yes, they are talking retro fashion, dance and, of
course, music that will bring audiences an evening packed with the most
delightful surprises.
