(Jason Andrews, Mali
Sewell, Dawn Selby, Barry Thomson & Marion Loudon)
Offering a relaxed fun evening of good cheer, Rhumbelow
Theatre Pietermaritzburg and Durban will present Christmas Rocks.
Booked in for a short run ending on Christmas Eve, Christmas Rocks is a great family choice
for this festive season. The team is The Reals band– guitarist Barry Thomson,
keyboardist Dawn Selby, drummer Mali Sewell and bassist Jason Andrew – who
share the stage with vocalist Marion Loudon.
Sticking to last year’s winning formula, the song sheet
offers hits from festive season shows in which the ace team of musicians and
singers have featured in recent years as well as a merry mix of Rock n Roll
party favourites saluting all things festive with a sprinkling of some
favourite jolly holiday Christmas songs!
On the programme will be many 2014 highlights from the
George Ezra hit Budapest, to Wake Me Up from Avicci. Audiences can
also expect to hear Queen hits Tie Your
Mamma Down and Love Of My Life to
Everybody Have Fun Tonight and We Built This City. The repertoire also
includes a medley of songs featured in their recent sell-out Woodstock tribute
show, I Shall Be Released, a Who
Medley and Jo Cockers With A Little Help
From My Friends. Festive fare includes Jingle
Bell Rock, Happy Christmas – War Is Over, Let It Snow, Sleigh Ride and Chestnuts Roasting.
