(Kurt Darren)
South Africa’s
Prince of Afrikaans pop, Kurt Darren kicks off 2015 with an intimate concert at
the Wild Coast Sun where he will introduce his fans to his latest album, Lied vir die Vrou.
The uber-popular
singer takes to the stage at the Tropical Nites Theatre on January 3, 2015, for
one night only.
“We are thrilled to
confirm that Kurt Darren will be bringing his tour to the Wild Coast in the New
Year. Fans can look forward to seeing him perform songs from his new album live
on stage. It promises to be a memorable and energetic show,” says Logan Moodley
of LM Promotions at the Wild Coast Sun.
Lied vir die Vrou is a festival of lyrics, melody and rhythm
– in true Kurt Darren style. The album comprises 14 diverse songs that lend
themselves to foot-stomping-hip-shaking-sokkie, two-step, jive, a slowdance or
simply a relaxed bit of easy listening.
The words and
melodies on this album blend effortlessly to capture anything from a loud and
light-hearted party, to stories and pearls of wisdom about life, to more quiet
and intimate moments in music.
Tracks on the album
include the title track - ‘Lied vir die
vrou’ – as well as Cowboys &
crooks, Dans op die tafels, Saggies praat, Laat die poppe dans, Hart van glas, Ek
is jou skaduwee, Oooh lala and many more.
The very catchy Bicycle sonder ‘n slot medley also
features on the album – offering colourful new renditions of Koos Kombuis’ Bicycle sonder ‘n slot, Kruidjie roer my nie and Klein bietjie wyn by Anton Goosen, as
well as Laurika Rauch’s ever popular hit, Stuur
groete aan Mannetjies Roux.
Kurt takes to the Tropical
Nites Theatre stage on January 3 at 20h00 but fans are urged to arrive earlier
as seating is unreserved. Tickets R120 (R80 under 15’s). Tickets are available
at Computicket and at the Wild Coast Sun’s Cinema 2.
