(Zenzelisphesihle "Sparky" Xulu & Adam Doré)
If you're looking
for ideas to keep the youngsters entertained during the holidays, stop
stressing.
The Playhouse
Company offers Skungpoomery, a whacky
and hilarious comic play that's been especially tailored for the young
(children aged between 6 and 13), as well as the young-at-heart. After its
runaway success in Britain, Skungpoomery
will be staged daily at the Playhouse from December 2 to 21 and promises to be
a firm favourite with the whole family this festive season.
“Skungpoomery” is
simply the art of thinking up a new word, deciding what it means, then doing
it. The show guarantees lots of fun and laugh-a-minute entertainment and also
boasts a wondrously creative element as the characters - and the audience -
indulge in clever wordplay and discover an entirely new lexicon.
The cast includes Nhlakanipho
Manqele; Samkelisiwe Hlophe; Zenzelisphesihle Xulu; Adam Doré, Mike Gritten, Krystle Temmerman, Yateen Dhayaram,
Belinda Henwood and Bongani Mbatha.
Added to the
excitement, The Playhouse Company is giving every child a special goodie
package at the end of the show to celebrate their holidays.
Directed by Ralph
Lawson, Skungpoomery runs in the
Playhouse Loft from December 2 to 21 at 12h00, 14h00 and 14h30. Tickets R100 booked
at Computicket.
